Dutch, son of Hawkeye, Future Flock Leader & Crew

Thank you! If you ever need a BR rooster, you just need to drive over to the N. Ga. mtns and get one. Bet I'll have some sons of Dutch in the spring.

Mahonri, thank you! That sweet faced young Ameraucana is my only splash pullet. I was SO thrilled to get her! Out of two eggs hatched from the six shipped ones I put in, I got a blue girl and a splash girl, not my usual luck. Now, I also have a splash Orpington pullet after hatching on three different occasions, three different splash Orp cockerels. BTW, that girl in the pics is named Snow.

Wow, Crystal, your BLRW are just behind my bunch then. I opened up one of the exterior nestboxes just because I realized that my EE girl is close to laying age. Even though she's a month older than the rest of the teens, I thought it best she have a place to deposit that egg other than on the floor so maybe the others wont mess around in the nest much. I even put the plastic eggs in the nest. Can't believe it's that time already.

Well, Cynthia, it is unbelievable how fast Dutch as grown, or how time flies as they say. If my little guy does not work out, then I sure hope I have a broody next spring so we can try again to get a BR Rooster.

His comb is perfect and barring is terrific. I am hoping his disposition is as good as his dad or brother. Probably.

Great looking birds,
Ellie

Ellie, I think Dutch will be able to provide us with some more fertile eggs when and if you need them. He's already strutting his stuff with the ladies. They are not impressed, mind you, but they soon will be. He is not the love-bug that Zane is yet, but he's a pretty good boy so far. We'll have to see how he does when the hormones really start raging. His baby brother, Mace, 11 or 12 weeks old, is a real character, a sweet lovable kid like Zane was. Dutch, however, has the best barring of just about any BR I have here.
