DW learning to clean rabbits(graphic sorta)

I was going to butcher 2 rabbits and she said"TEACH ME HOW TO CLEAN THEM CAUSE YOU WONT BE AROUND FOREVER",

I thought, because I knew this was going to be one of those half way through it was going to end up in a big arugument with me finishing it because she doesnt like to touch raw meat.

The only thing is she still cant do the first step. She didnt like the entrails removeal part

but all in all she did a good job

and she almost lost it when blood splattered from the pervious step

(just under the nose and left shoulder)

she said she thought touching raw cold meat was nasty..........touching raw warm meat is even worse

I get the honours of processing the rabbits at my house. DH doesn't want them--he'll eat them of course, but they are solely MY responsibility. The only part I need help with is the actual killing part. I opted for the pulling on the head and back feet way to dispatch, and I'm just not strong enough, I had a hard enough time doing one let alone doing 9-10 at a time, so I have enlisted the help of my son for that part.

Kudos to her for at least trying. looks like she did a great job.
Since injuring my arm I must leave it to my husband to do the processing. he doesnt mind actually and he would prefer to do it himself but I am far more picky when it comes to the dispatch, skin and clean part.

His idea is to dispatch, skin, semi clean and bring it inside for me to finish and chill. my idea is dispatch, skin and toss in a bucket of iced water, move on tho the next until the bucket is full then bring them in to finish cleaning.

I LOVE FRIED RABBIT!

The children won't touch it though.

I may process some of mine soon. I really need to cull a few, I've got too many.
