Hi, my name is Glen Johnson from Seattle Wa, My wife and I are setting up a coop for next spring and I am wondering if the chicken's will damage my fruit trees? as the area for their run will be along the fence where I have seven espalier trees of different fruit growing.

good question and I'd like to hear the answer as I'm short on space and am trying to plan where to put what.

Welcome to the chicken addiction, from Renton.

Anything that they can reach is potentially in danger. Especially if the are in a run. I free range mine in my backyard and they don't mess with plants at all. The only damage they've done to plants is from scratching up the roots, and very little of that.
