I used the food coloring with vinigar, soaked them for about 5 minutes, rinsed and dried. As you can see, the color did transfer a bit to the inside of the shell, and when wet, does run a bit, but all in all, this works and makes for a nice little addition to a gift of eggs. So pretty.
