Dying as they hatch?

I've read you shouldn't use a marker on the eggs. It may contaminate them. Use a pencil.

No it hasn't so far with the marker. I tried pencil and ink pens. No go cuz I damaged eggs using them, plus have hard time seeing it. But so far no issues with marker even if it is under hens or incubators.
