My family and I own and raise pet chickens, and though this has happened before I still dont know how to help my sick bird.

Ginger, one of a newer chickens, not yet a year, new Hampshire red, and this morning when we let the rest of the birds out to run in the yard she stayed in the pen. right now shes barely breathing and weve have to force water to her beak with a dropper, hold her and pat mucus out of her lungs. her poop is a green yellow and weve given her treated water but she wont eat, won't drink and hasnt layed before. what do i do? I dont want ger to die like the last ones who got sick a couple years ago.

Yes. We've patted mucous out of her lungs twoce now and she seems to get better each time we do, but then she gets worse again.
Patted like when your friend coughes and you pat them on the bavk to help them, just not as hard.

I know she has a respiratory infection. I just dont know how to help her

We dont have the money for a vet and we dont even know if shed survive the drive there. Shes under a heat lamp from now, but she wont open her eyes.
We tried to give her some antibiotics we already had, with b12 and vitamin D with mineral water but she won't drink, so its hard to get it to her

ive considered it. if she was my bird i would have, but she is my 10yr old brothers. its his call and he wont stop tryimg till shes cold, like he did the last time
