they also kept getting kicked out of the coop by my older chickens

maybe they got kicked away from the heat by the older chickens and then froze...

or the older chickens ate all of their feed and they starved...

or the older chickens pecked them hard enough to kill but not make them bloody.

It sounds like they might be too young to be in with your larger birds if they can be pushed out from the heat source. I'm sorry for your loss, but it might be good to find a way to separate any other little guys you have.

Found a way to separate them. This should prevent any further deaths
