My beautiful roo is dying. It's there anything I can do for him? I was in the hospital for the past 4 days and I came home to this. It's like he can't walk and flapping his wings just had him flailing. I don't see any sign of injury. He's alert, just not moving. I do have another roo who could be the problem but again, there's no blood or anything else noticable. Help?

I brought him in the house. He's still just laying there but he's masking soft chicken noises.

Has it been very hot? If so, try giving him electrolytes with extra sugar added. See if that revives him and gives him strength to stand.

If that fails, start him on one tablet of vitamin B-complex per day, B-100 if you can get to Walmart. If this is a vitamin B deficiency, he should recover in around four to six weeks.

If this doesn't fix him, then you need to consider getting a necropsy when he dies as it may be Marek's or lymphoid leucosis.

We had a very hot summer but it has cooled off from the 90s to the 80s. If the rooster is just laying there, how do you give him supplements?

You can place him in a homemade chicken sling chair to get him upright, to eat and drink food and water set right in front of him. This only works for lame chickens who are cooperative. Could he have been kept from eating and drinking by the other rooster or hens? How old is he? Here is a good link for sling chairs, especially posts 5, 11, and 12 for how to make one:

He's 5-6 months old.

He's still alive! I have him in a sling and put food right in front of him. Water is very close. I got an electrolyte and vitamin supplement and got as much as I could down his throat. I learned he's still feisty! Today I've mixed hydro hen into his water. So that's where we are. Still doing ok.
