Last year we lost 38+ chickens to, we eventually found out, to Eagles. They would kill a chicken and , before they could eat it, the donkeys would chase it off. Then it would circle and get another chicken and the cycle would repeat.
Saw the Eagle in our front yard this weekend, ran out to see if it had a chicken and it flew off. It had a small opossum on the ground.
Now we have to start keeping the Ladies locked up most of the day, last year we started only letting them out an hour or so before dusk so they got a little free range time.
