No I'm not a falconer nor was it a pet. It is a barred owl that got trapped in the netting over my chicken yard last winter. It was very calm as I untangled it and just perched on my arm--I was sure it was injured as it didn't fly away. I took it to the local vet who treated it for lice then sent it to a wildlife rehabilitator who released it--apparently no injury other than a possible sprain. (The mittens, BTW, were bought on sale at Gander Mt.)
