Technically I'm a member, but only because my mom wanted me to enroll.

Hmmm. Well I guess that makes sense. I was completley grossed out when my dad told me we were getting them. And now I am IN LOVE with them! lol.

My county thinks chickens are a joke and sticks them in a run-down, leaky barn with the rabbits that could collapse at any time. And, they say they don't have enough money to repair it, when I see them doing all kinds of stuff to the livestock arena. Since I got in 4-H, me and my parents have been really pushing to get the Poultry going, we even got the fair board to let us have a show to raise money to fix the barn. We want to have another this Spring too. The County fair awards ceremony was the other day, and they made big announcements for all the livestock. They set a stack of the checks on a table for the chickens and said come find your check. It was a joke. All us chicken peeps were furious. I'm glad I stayed at a friend's house and didn't go.

I go to the state fair and do contest with my friends and it's really fun. I love 4-H.

I'm joining the 4-H in January too, when my 4-H year is 13!

I already had a meeting with the admin in our county!

I'm in 4-H. With poultry (showmanship and breeding). Horse, goat, knitting....etc.

"was In 4-h" I aged out.

I do still help the new members out though with tips and helping sheer sheep. Sadly Our fair only started poultry the last year I was able to compete so I never really got the experience of showing chickens. I just hope someday they do an "open" class so I could show someday.
