Ear/Sinus Infection?

I looked her over and see zero evidence of mites. There was a tiny bit more crustiness towards her vent, but nothing big at all. It does look like the crustiness is coming back on the neck as I haven't put ointment on most of her neck for a couple days.

Being able to put enough fungal cream on her several days in a row seems like a very large task it would be her whole head/neck and part of her rear. Who knows where else it might be. She's got a lot of feathers.
It's almost l like I need to give her something for her whole body. Is there anything like that available? I have done monistat in a hen's vent for several days to combat gleet. That worked swimmingly, but would that help external fungal issues?
I have done additional digging and while I can't find a lot of information about adult birds with Aspergillosis, she does seem to have some of that look to her. She does seem to have a little respiratory issue going on. My daughter also said she saw her extending her head up and stretching with mouth open the other day. But I have not seen that.

I started her on pre/probiotics/plasma protein and whatever the Flock Rescue 911 stuff is from Perdue (I think).

There are oral anti-fungal meds but those require a script.

You can try painting betadine on the affected areas, if you don’t have or can’t get betadine you can use gentle iodine. I have used that on my horses for ‘ringworm’ which is a fungal infection - no worms involved!

Use a cotton swab to paint it on the skin.

Like us our pets can become immune compromised and get sick, a bit of TLC can do wonders and it sounds like you’re on top of this. Sometimes you just have to keep trying different things to see what works. I always say as long as they are eating, drinking and pooping they hopefully should be fine.

She's certainly eating, drinking, and pooping.

If I go the betadine route, am I doing that every day? For how long?

I would do daily for 3 to 4 days and then re-evaluate after that. Don’t need to soak her just paint it on the skin (you can use a dabbing or rolling motion of the swab), it just sucks that it’s winter.

Very glad to hear her appetite is good.

We have a streak of fairly warm days coming. Wish I wasn't scared of her spreading it, I could put her in the hoophouse which gets fairly warm. I will wait until tomorrow so I'm not getting her soaked going into night.

I got the iodine stuff on her where I could. I rechecked her vent and area around it. It does not have the same look as the feathers near her neck. It just looks like... dandruff for lack of a better term. Dry skin. It doesn't look problematic to me.

Can you take a photo of her belly skin showing the feathers like in this photo?

Yes, I can check her belly tomorrow.
It might be wishful thinking, but she has the slightest tinge of red coming back to her ears. She has been very pale.
She had bubbles in her eyes today again. I am still putting a little triple antibiotic ointment wiped across her eyes (but not in). It seems to keep the crusty stuff away. I haven't had to help open her eyes for several days now. Ears still making some crusty discharge. Nothing in her nostrils as best I can tell. Still putting a little ointment in her ears and around them as well.
How close should I be trying to get the iodine to her eyes? I avoided them today.

It's been warm enough that I have popped her shed door open and letting her get some sun the last few days. She seems to like that.

Still very eager to eat. Quite tolerant of the "spa treatments" she's getting. Maybe because she knows the food follows now.

Keep the iodine away from her eyes.

Bubbles in the eyes suggest Mycoplasma Galisepticum (MG) I have this in my flock and it’s recurring at times. I do not rehome any birds and don’t bring any other birds in now.

I treat with Tylosin but it’s a bugger to mix the stuff and hard to get doses correct for a single animal.

I mix with warm water in water bottle and shake it really well to dissolve when I treat the whole flock.
