Earliest egg you have gotten and from what breed?

16 weeks and it came from a Rainbow

I apologize if this is a stupid question but I bought 2 "rainbow layers" is that a actual kind of chicken or does that just mean they had several kinds in a group? I bought the only 2 that were left that no one had taken because they had poop stuck to their butts. Now just wondering what they are. (I got them all cleaned up and they are 16 weeks now)

My Barred rock just started squatting for me. In my experience that means not much longer than a week and she will be laying. She will be 4 months old on August 11th.

From what i understand that means your eggs will be different colors not just one. Example: one bird lays brown, one bird lays white, one lays green, one can lay chocolate color. Thats what i thought it meant. Simply each bird lays a different color egg???? Im not positive though.

I looked it up. I was wrong. A rainbow layer has " color and feather patterns that will dazzle". Yes, its a type of chicken . Hope this helps. Live and learn..

Golden comets Weezee on her 4 months birthday 7/30/16 and her sister brokentoe laid the next day.
Still waiting on their 3 sisters.
Weezee's egg is the dark one.

"Rainbow Layer" is just another name for Easter Egger, and no, they are not a 'breed' per se, more like a mutt, usually bred from Ameraucanas, Auracanas, Legbars or any other breed which has the blue egg gene and some other breed.
