I went out as usual to let my flock out and give them their daily treats and one female had a LARGE hole/ slice in her earlobe. It was all dirty inside, but not bleeding, looked like it had stopped already. I grabbed some Povidone-iodine and cleaned it out really well with that and paper towels.

Then I noticed ANOTHER hen had what seemed like a small bloody spot on HER earlobe!

What the heck! Are they suddenly pecking each other? Why would they do that? Did I clean it out with the right stuff?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmmm i would not call it an earlobe but i know what your talking about are there "ear lobes" turning white (witch is completely normal) This may trigger a" oooo differance lets peck it till we kill it' radar sending good (((vibes))) and a BUMP
