This is one of my Orpingtons .. I am just noticing that many of their earlobes are turning white ?
They normally seem very red ..
Is this a worming problem ? Hormonal ?
I don't see any mites ..
Any insight would be most helpful .. TIA

I'm not sure. Could they have been mixed with something else? My mix-breed rooster had a handsome blue ear-lob from his silkie father.
It could just be that specific strain of Orpington.

All the same, that's a pretty hen!

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply .. It was suggested that I deworm the flock just as a precaution. I have yet to do this so I am thinking it's a good idea.
Your most likely right about the crossbreeding.
That does make sense.
Funny you said hen and I have suspicion this may be a Roo :)
Hope your right ...
Lol
Thanks again

I dont see the connection between an earlobe turning white and deworming your flock....apples and oranges.
Use a damp wash rag and try wiping off the earlobe. If the white material is removed, it might be a fungal issue you're dealing with. If it doesnt wipe off, I agree with GetaBooks, a genetic anomaly.
