Early Christmas present

Oh wow yeah that is very easy to see! I like what you have done with your avatar by the way.

I got 5 eggs two weeks ago, but didn't try to hatch them, i already have emu eggs in the bator so its different temp and humidity, if i cracked an egg would you be able to tell if it fertile?

I have a spare incubator (my old one), I have kept it because once in awhile something happens that I need to be able to separate eggs... Like when my neighbor brought me approximately a gazillion guinea eggs and I already had pea eggs in there

When it came time to hatch, I moved one set of eggs to the other incubator so I hatched in one and continued to incubate in the other.

It's also nice to have a backup in case anything disastrous were to happen to my preferred incubator.

I also have an UPS that I don't need anymore for the computer I bought it for several years ago. We just found it in the storage, and as soon as it is charged, I am going to plug the incubator into it. I lost good developing eggs last spring when the power went out all afternoon and they got very chilled. Of course we were having a late cold snap and the bator was in the unheated garage and I wasn't home...

I use heat lamps every year. I have had a hen lay in the winter before. But she is the only one out of 6 hens. I think she has winter mama blues, or empty nest syndrome lol

Looks fertile to me

Same egg photo with a quick fix

Well, if she is laying eggs that look like THIS, she has a partner in crime

I have old incubators but they will not stay on the same temp for a day, one is 15 years old and the second is 13 years old. I really need new incubator for next spring!

By the way if you want to see purple people eater. If you go to the United peafowl association web page he is the cover bird

lol that's why I bought the new one... the old one was killing eggs. It wouldn't even stay the same temperature from the left side of the incubator to the right side inside the same incubator, even after I installed a circulation fan. It was a complete nuisance.
