babies are cute. Last time I hatched my humidity was to low and several got stuck in shrinking egg. I saved 3 or 4 with a cue-tip medical eye dropper and warm water... Plus LOTS OF TIME AND LOVE... Watching them hatch is fun... HELPING them hatch in those situations is insane.
I had to assist on my last hatch and I ended up loosing her later because she had a defect. I'm not going to help this time unless it is absolutely necessary.

I was the same way. I let them sit for a solid 24 hours after they tried to zip and actually SAW the gunk stuck on the worst one. One had her bottom stuck. And was pitiful watching it try to wobble around.

I hope I never have to assist

. I raised dairy goats for 8+ years and having to pull out kids from moms was stressful with a capital S! For some reason assisting an egg is just as terrifying for me!

I had weird dreams about my hatch too, and used to have crazy dreams before the goats were born, lol, one was that it had puppies like another person mentioned. Anxiety makes for vivid dreams I guess.

I can't wait to hear about everyone's hatches, I'm excited for you all! I put 21 eggs in the bator last night: it's addiction stuff!!

My 2 mutt eggs went into lockdown yesterday, and one was wiggling away! (I like to have my eggs hatch early rather than late so I try to maintain 100 degrees in my incubator) I CANNOT WAIT for chicks!!!!!

It is so sad when it's caused by us. I will try to help then but if it isn't caused by me, I won't help. I helped this little one for over a month a couple times a day and personally fed and bathed her because she had a bowl problem. SHe finally couldn't walk and wouldn't eat and I had to cull her. One of the hardest things I've had to do and I vow to not do it again.

Can't wait!!! Everyone here's having great success this hatch. I've got 9 noisy roosters I have to cull and a baby bird area I need to set up. Lots of work for the next few days. Anyone want to help

Lock down is today for me. New incubator set up yesterday is holding Temps and humidity. I'll make the move over tonight after work. Some wonky air cells on some, so some will be upright. Others will be on their sides.

This thread is getting really exciting!! I can't wait to see pictutes!! Especially of the ducks!!!

Oh boy just about had a heart attack! I checked the temp earlier and it was perfect come back an hour later it was 106

Since there was no pips I pulled the eggs out to let them cool down and adjusted the temperature and threw a wet rag in to bring humidity back up. Once it lowered I put them back, I candled while I had them out, they were all alive thank God!! I hope it didn't have any ill affects!!
