How sweet! Yay for babies!!!

If you got 74% RH in the bator, you got too much water, but others have already said that. Get those dry chicks (and I saw a couple who are already fully dry) out of the bator.

@Sally Sunshine
, recently pointed several links to the fact that chicks held in the incubator too long, or under wrong conditions, can suffer.

I don't have any hatched chicks in this set yet. It was someone else with the pics of the chicks. Mine are only on day 19 and still in their shells, no pips.

I have read Sally Sunshines hatching thread in the past and it's definitely helpful.

Ok, that's a fair fear, always, with chickens, they are prey. So, my suggestion, since you asked, is keep them safe inside until they are fully feathered then only worry about other animals getting to them, your frozen weather, like mine, won't harm them once they are fully feathers (as long as there are no strong drafts pointed at them).

We are going to build a solid brooder coop for my babies. Who knows. In 2 weeks I might have a few broody girls who might like a baby or 10

. They will have a 4'x4' low coop with hardware cloth under the whole thing and access to a 5'x10' run that will butt up to my 10'x10' big bird run until my privacy fence is put up. I think a brooder pad will be the best idea. Cover it with peat moss so it will get warm but not hot. Then when all treats of frost are over I'll pull it.

Candled my second batch tonight, day 6, a day early I know! I set 34, only 24 are fertile, the others I think we're from the same hen, I don't think she mated. One was a porous early quitter.
