that's probably what mine will be like. I set 40 eggs... Pulled 1 on day 5... Will candle again tomorrow or day after. Wish me luck. Day 10 and counting.

Ok. Couldn't help it... Washed up real good and candled. It looks like 8or9 no good. But a solid 30 clean development. See movement and veins. Looking good but will wait until day 13 before I pull those 9 in case I'm missing it but looks clear.

Those are great numbers! I agree, unless it is very clear but they are not growing I always wait Until day 15 or so to remove them.

Good luck! Did you get a chance to get a new hydrometer?

One of my new chicks (24 hours old) has an eye that's not open. I gently rubbed it and pulled the eyelid down to make sure he had an eye there. He does but I checked him again and he's keeping it closed still.

I call him Pirate now but what should I do for him?

I'll count when I get home, before I left for work this morning there were at least three pips. Might have been more that I couldn't see.
