it only has a bit of yolk left so hes in the bator with high humidity to keep him moist and a wet gauze pad on the yolk waiting for it to absorb
so...what else do i need to do to keep this youngster alive

There really isnt anything that can be done but wait. Until the little one has absorbed all the egg- it cant be totally free of the egg- Once it is- you can try to get it to take some vitamins orally. I use an eyedropper and place a drop on the top of their beaks to encourage the to open thir little beaks for more. In the mean time- talk to it- try to get it to peep back at you. Its a good way of assessing the strength of the little one- and also encourages it to move around which will also help the absorbsion of the remaining yolk.
