early hatch?

I counted the very day my hen began setting she had a few eggs accumulating in nest before setting. At day 14 I was shocked to see a fuzzy chic under her. Could this egg have began developing before her setting? Anybody seen this. I interact daily with chickens and every detail so it wasn't a miscalculation. Thanks. Oh important fact the remaining eggs hatched on correct date.

It's entirely possible that the egg was older, or it could have been weird. the egg could have been stuck and incubated in her or it could've just hatched early. If the latter is true, the chicken will most likely have a deformation and a shorter life.

Seems fine. Eats drinks peeps... my mom said maybe a combo of heat high humidity and periodically on nest began incubating. She was laying eggsregularly I left them in nest and marked day she began setting...
