what causes duck eggs to hatch early? my last 2 batched of duck eggs have hatched an average of 5 days early. with the 1st batch, the pekins hatched fine, but the pekin x isr hatched, they would try to come out of the shell, but the yolk sac would be stuck to the inside of the shell. the end results where dead ducklings. i turn them 2 to 4 times a day, and when they are in the incubators they are on an automatic turners..

i hatch chicken eggs and duck eggs together. the chickens hatch on day 21 never early.

I have virtually never seen a duckling hatch with the yolk still attached. On rare occasion, there will be a little left that hasn't absorbed completely (never seen more than about 1/8 inch protrusion). I have never seen them hatch out of the shell with a discernible yolk sac attached. Are they being helped out of the shell? If so, that is a big no-no if they haven't absorbed the yolk. Typically, early hatching is a result of too high of temperature, but I am not sure that has anything to do with what you are seeing with the yolks.

Either you are helping or the temp. is WAY to high.
