Wow, a couple of days ago, one of my hens started laying one small egg a day. They aren't supposed to start laying until the first of July. Not complaining. She has done so the last two days! Delicious but small.

Was it a sexlink or leghorn? The can start as early as 4 months. I love the Red Sexlinks. And leghorns. Great egg layers.

Those small ones are so funny, but do taste great. If you try to boil them, be prepared for a difficult peeling - steam them instead.

They will gradually get larger as she continues to lay.
