its my first time hatching eggs and I have one egg that pipped on the wrong side of the egg. I just put them into lockdown last night at 18 days and while candling this chick had piped into the air sack and appeared to be on track. This mourning I see the pip through the shell on the wrong side with the hole through the membrane. I dont hear any peeps from inside the egg. I had my humidity lower because I had several eggs that were overweight so I have increased the humidity to hopefully keep the membrane from shrink wrapping the chick. I assume there isnt much more I can do being so soon in the hatch. Today makes day 19.
Thanks
Jeff

yeah id give him some time, maybe right where the beak is give him a pinhole but be quick about it ..if several others hatch and he's still sittin there rethink it at that time ..

The hole is an actual hole through the shell and membrane. I am noticing other eggs starting to pip on the air side of the egg. Day 19 so it looks like it might be an early hatch. This is both exciting and nerve wracking at the same time.
Thanks
Jeff

I am just finishing a hatch and about half of mine pipped on the wrong side. What I have done is take some tweezers and open up an air hole where they pipped. I removed a little tiny bit of the membrane where they pipped so the air hole was big enough that they shouldn't suffocate if they moved around a little bit. Most of the wrong side pip eggs hatched within 36 hours. The few that didn't I assisted them hatching. Here is one as I am helping him as he was in a bad position for zipping.
