Early stages sour crop?

So with Monistat it's a 1/3 of a pill twice a day? What about Dolcolax? How often and what amounts?

Since she has a bacterial infection too, will the Monistat affect that?

Yes. But they sent another culture before they will give her medicine. This won't be until Wednesday. She has abnormal fungal and bacterial growth. No signs of parasites.

I usually use a syringe and squeeze the Monistat into the syringe...about a 1/2 to 1 ml about 2 times a day. If a crop is slow, yeast are growing.

For the Dolculax...prick open 1 or 2 of them on the first time. I usually use pliers to squeeze the liquid out. I usually put some Gerber Baby food or applesauce into a small tea cup, squeeze the pills onto the food and then load this into a syringe and squeeze under the tongue. I use the Dolculax 2 times a day, usually 1 pill a time after this, and do this for a few days. If there is a clog somewhere, this should break it down. Dolculax is used in many crop bound pills.

Her comb is shrinking and flopping over. Few loose poops but most are solid and look normal but smell like cheese. Could this be the start of cancer? Ever seen these symptoms with sour crop? Abdomen still okay.

Did they give you an anti-fungal like ketoconazole? Odd that they wouldn't start antibiotics based on what they saw under the scope.

Shrinking comb is usually a sign of dehydration.

Anything that slows down the exit of waste out through the vent will cause the crop to back up and become slow and sour. So if she has any tumors developing from cancer, yes, they can squeeze off the intestinal tract and slow everything down. Combs can shrink for many health reasons, and yes, dehydration will cause them to flop. No doubt she is dehydrated with this crop issue...she is not getting enough food or liquid. And until you get the crop moving, she really can't take in any more water than what slips through.

I would try the things you know you can fix like coccidiosis, worming, sour crop and impaction remedies...these are the most common reasons a crop backs up. You can't fix cancer but you don't know for sure she does have cancer. Sometimes you have to rule everything else out before you come to a conclusion, at least on a live bird.

They didn't give me anything. Not even advice for supportive care.
