Earring mishap

My most tame bird loves to perch on me. Today she very quickly pulled my earring out and I'm thinking she may have swallowed it! Will it hurt her? Will it stay in her gizzard or will she pass it? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the club - it has happened to many. Generally such misadventures do not hurt the birds, and the earring spends some time in the gizzard before being excreted. Hopefully it was not a valuable piece of jewelry.
