Earrings are not treats!

I have certainly learned my lesson about wearing jewelry around the chickens, the hard way! @sumi That's a horrible thing to have happened to you! I'll try to resist smiling, but I tend to be a happy person so I'm sure I'll fail on that end too.

My sister had a parrot that loved to land on folks heads or shoulders. One day, he came to my shoulder. It took him a mere second to snatch my diamond (like) ear ring out of my ear. He flew off with it, doing his "human laugh" of glee. He was always snatching something that he knew you didn't want him to have, then playing keep away with it. Thankfully, he didn't fight too hard to keep it, nor did he swallow it. He'd sometimes run off with something, and proclaim, "Bad boy! Bad boy!"

At least he knew how naughty he was! That's hilarious.

LOL they think....OOOoooo SHINY!

KGr8.....Earrings are just one reason I don't let birds near my face.

I'm still new to chickens so I'm learning things the hard way. I know now that these guys can't be trusted around earrings, teeth, etc. The incident actually happened surprisingly quickly. He flew onto my shoulder from his coop, I took a photo (already had the phone ready to go in my hand), and he snatched my earring. It took maybe 10 seconds. I'm at fault for wanting to take a selfie for sure, but I was surprised he wanted to fly onto my shoulder in the first place. I'll certainly know from now on not to let them up there in the first place!
