Earth worms?

I wild crazy thought crossed my mind. Can I add earthworms to my deep litter run?

I don’t see why not. Although the chickens might eat them all if you want them to live in the deep litter. You can put them out at night and give them a chance to go under ground before the chickens notice! I have deep litter with plants in my run and the worms just show up and the chickens eat the ones they find!

They are normally there naturally, so I don’t see a problem with putting some in. As @CaliforniaMountainChicks suggested you could try putting them out at night.

Mine show up on their own as the litter rots down - but they can't come up to the surface or they get gobbled up by my chickens. Yummy apparently!

Sure but don't expect them to be in there long with chickens running around.

The chickens will dig them out and eat them. They are also a vector for tapeworms.
Not that chickens still don't eat earthworms if they have access to the ground. Mine like to rescue earthworms from drowning during rain storms.
