Earthquake

I didn't read through all the responses yet, but it was absolutely felt here in Western Massachusetts. My daughter and I were out with my Gram, but here at home, my Mother had the bookshelves shaking and swaying, the sofa moved about 6 inches, teh cats were terrified. I personally didn't feel a thing, but we were driving. When I got home, the drawers in my dressers had shaen open all the way and several things fell off a shelf. Glad to be safe!

I was just reading the Winston Salem journal and they had printed the Moravian church records from as far back as 1774.
According to them the moravians were excellant record keepers and they had reports of 20 or more quakes from 1774 to 1897.
Must have been some big ones too, because most happened in the middle of the night when those folks would have been sleeping.
Also says the year of 1886 would long be remembered as the earthquake year.

Also we had some small quakes in my area about 5 or 6 years ago.
Someone came out from Raleigh and recorded some of the shakes.

People that was a) a foot massage b) founding fathers rolling over in their grave c) Kirstey Alley working out d) the earthquakes leaving CA because the economy is so bad or e) an earthquake. I vote A. I live in SoCal. Our last quake moved a border town 6".

Saw someone else post this from somewhere else.

EARTHQUAKE JOKES:

As all of DC leaves work at the same time, the United States experiences a brief economic recovery.

I won't stop shaking until Obama makes a speech telling me that everything is ok and that he has a plan

Fox News claims the Washington monument is leaning to the right, MSNBC claims it's leaning to the left. More news at 11.

Obama administration points out they "inherited" fault lines from previous administrations.

Evidently the quake occurred on a little known fault line outside of DC called "Bush's Fault"

That was no earthquake, it was the Fore Fathers collectively rolling in their graves

Breaking from Jay Carney: "We apologize for the disturbance, the president's ego collapsed under the weight of all his BS."

not an earthquake, it was Obama's approval rating hitting bottom.

In related news, Maxine Waters blamed the Tea Party for the quake and told them to go to hell, Obama missed a putt and blamed Bush for the mulligan, and Janet Napolitano just added ‘acts of god’ to the domestic terrorist threat assessment.

Quake caused by former Obama voters shifting right
