I need some info about the easiest way to forcefeed waterfowl.I have seen complicated forcefeeding machines that forcefeed a duck in 15 seconds, but I dont want that kind of machine. Is there a more simple way that to be efficient, and take maximum 10 minutes,to forcefeed waterfowl ?

Are you sure you like duck liver? Goose liver is supposed to be very desirable but I find it to be absolutely inedible.

Ducks will stuff themselves to bursting without being force fed. They are very greedy.

I really like liver, from all poultry not just duck or goose liver. So then I will just give a lot off feed, much more they can acctualy eat.

There is a farmer in Spain who lets his ducks gorge themselves on figs. He is reputed to have the best foie gras inteh world. The experiment was tried here in upstate NY. I believe the chef called it "failed gras". Apparently the Spanish example works because his ducks still have a migration instinct and naturally overeat in an attempt to accumulate extra fat for winter. From what I understand commercial ducks while they will overeat will not go to the extremes required to produce good quality livers.Foie gras was traditionally produced by hand feeding through what is basically a funnel and then hand massaging the feed down the gullet. From what I've seen and heard the process takes less than 10 minutes per bird but must be done at least twice per day.
