Confused. Took in a friends chicks and I’m not sure if the chick is a boy since the pea comb has a reddish tint to it. Don’t be filled by the legbar girl look with eye liner and chipmunk stripe.

I don’t know.. I think four weeks is still too young to tell. The comb is a bit suspicious but please update us in about two weeks. 🤗

4 weeks is still quite young for this breed, though you could have a cockerel. Post again in 2 more weeks.
Okay. I’ve read that if u see 3 rows of dots it’s a male. And a female will only have 1 row??

Easter eggers, which are a mix, can have pea combs and what you've been discussing is the three rows of peas on a pea comb.
This chick has a rose comb. EEs can have them, since they're a mix, but that means the rows doesn't apply. There's no rows on a rose comb.

I'd give this chick a little more time before you judge gender.

Okay thank you, I just see a lot of dots on the comb.
Does the color coming through so early maybe mean anything? I’m my experience that’s usually been the sign of cockerel.
when she was hatched, it had a white dot in the head. Idk if that means anything.
also in the pic are my white full legbar boys. Also with a white dot on head.
