Easter chicks, spraddle spray leg, did the fixes on this site work for you?

They are looking good ... what are you feeding them ... mine hate the crumble.

I have found they like a dry fried egg minced up small more then most things. Then they will pick at some of the seed in a small parrot mix, I toss that on the floor of wherever they are.

Also bread soaked in egg and water, with a pinch of sugar, some tuna ... mushie over boiled vegies that are soggy wet.

All good ideas, thank you! The 4 were perfectly healthy fully formed chicks that died in the shell. I still think all those power outages had something to do with it. Even though I did get them quickly plugged in, they were still carried a ways to my car, draft, water sloshing etc :\ I'm going to try your ideas on food today...thanks :)

I dont know about incubators ... sorry.

I just took this vid this am. If you have time, will you look at it and tell me how my taping job looks? Thank you :)))

Sad you lost the 4 - they were dead ?

I have toes taped on 2 and may do other. They were curled and not a good "platform"...I think they are doing better? I was up until midnight giving them feed with a syringe and electrolytes. "Stuffed" them (0.5 ml softened chick feed) and left them in their therapy crates all night upright.

Happy to say the biggest one appears to be out of the woods, eating and drinking. Even drank from a chicken nipple on his own! Second smallest is also getting around and pecking at crumble. The runt is currently peeping NONSTOP and seems in severe distress. I've swaddled her and out her in therapy crate (tiny wooden box) and she still won't stop loudly peeping. She has bedsores on both hocks and they are swollen. May be culling her soon.

Thanks for checking in! I have nobody else that understands me lol. We were about to cull the runt, came home from dinner (I had to get away from it all) and then she was up and about pecking food off the ground! The smaller two are still getting around, I'm unsure if they are getting to water so I'm still syringe feeding them a puréed crumble/electrolyte/vitamin smoothie (lol my husband thinks in crazy). They gained 1-2 grams each since yesterday (another reference back to the crazy

yes I weighed them yesterday (24 grams, 28 and 38). I have to work the next few 4 nights so I am having my 8 year old help. The biggest one is totally fine, younger two are starting to bear weight on their feet in a normal stance and I was able to remove the vet tape off their crooked toes yesterday. I can't upload pics

but I'll go take a new video right now :) I still have them on carpet (everything else too hard for them) and threw parrot food and bread crumbs all over the bottom of brooder. They like the millet. So much WORK!

Vid to come in about 20 mins (slow DSL Internet)... stay tuned :)

I love the way you have fallen back on your training ... weighing them

They must feel better with their toes free .........

Too funny how you can figure how to take and then upload a video to youtube - but cant get a pic in here

I would have a think about the flooring .... the seed might be a bit uncomfie under foot .... give them some space where there is no seed, maybe ?

Also I would have a think about just using a towel, leave it NOT flat so it has some small snake-like rises. This will help them balance, they can lean on the thicker snake-like lumps.

You and your son are doing an amazing job.

I have 3 little ones, who are just on 3 weeks of age at the moment that live on my dining table (of a night) and out in a wire-run of a day .... Ill try and get some videos of them today.
