Easter Disappointment.....agghhh!

My friend's German shepard ate a "death by chocolate" cake and died (ironic, eh?), on the other side... I had a rottweiler (not the one I have now) who ate half a chocolate/vanilla swirl birthday cake (had white frosting) but showed no problems. Sorry about the candy next time try to double check it's safety. And I like the idea of making your sister buy it now that it's on sale anyway.

Yup, sounds like "Labbish" behavior to me! You can't stay mad at him for long though. That Easter candy will be on sale now.

You can induce vomiting by giving him some peroxide. It only takes a little bit. Just watch him and see if he's actually strange. He may have had time to actually start digesting some of it.

My one Cocker Spanial ate a half a bag of hersey Kisses with the wrapper and all. So that was a nice trip to the vet and what the vet told was it would not have been the chocolate that hurt him but the foil wrappers. He is such a SPECIAL dog...

seriously, you need to run not walk to the vet. as i understand it IF the dog was poisoned (depends on the type and how much chocolate) the effect is sudden. my buddy almost lost his lab this way - it was so bad the vet just told my buddy to prepare himself for the dogs death. but he made it.

My SIL, Mini pin, ate a whole bag, big bag of peanut butter cups, he was fine, but he pooped and puked in every room of the house more than one time in each room. She came home to a horrible smell!
The dog was ok in a couple of days.
Her vet told her it depends on the dog and the size and the type of chocolate it is.
I hope your pooch is ok, keep us posted.
