Easter Egger, Ameraucana and REAL RIR! PICS

I LOVE real RIRs I am going to get some some day, but it is hadr to find any outside of a show. I think they are just about the best looking chicken there is. I love them!!

Thanks, Becky, L&S, I love the dark RIRs, too. They are so rich in color and the size of these girls is amazing, compared to my hatchery RIRs. It's not the first time I've had these beauties, but I never get tired of looking at them. Hopefully, they'll be laying in a couple of days. They're about 22 weeks old now.

Cyn, that RIR is a beauty. I love that color... wonder if it would be possible in Ameraucanas??

I am pretty sure I have some of June's cousins up here, she is pretty girl. Why in the heck isn't she laying though??

Nora is very pretty too. I had two nice blue Ameraucana pullets, one colored like that and one darker one, but the lighter was lost in the dog attack.

So, you gonna let me buy some BR/Ameraucana cross eggs from you in the spring?

JD, you are welcome to any eggs you like, buddy. You just let me know when and what. May trade with you on those eggs this spring. I wonder if you could get that deep mahogany color in an Ameraucana, too. It'd be an interesting bird!
marymac, you just get some hatching eggs from BamaChicken, as long as she still has these birds. I sold the only cockerel I had, so I wont be breeding them; at least for the moment.
Jody, I also think Nora is a very goodlooking girl. She has killer lacing, too. I'll have to get new pictures of her sister, Snow. She reminds me of fine crystal and china, she's so sparkly.

Oh, CYN! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the muffs & beard on Nora! She CAN'T be by the black roo you had! None of the ones Heidi & I hatched out have NEAR that big of muffs & beard! She's gorgeous!!!

Nope, but she is from Cree lines, just like Scout was (he was Cree on one side, anyway). Here is Snow, Nora's sister; although the pic is blurry, it shows her beard well. She is a real camera hog, hence the blur:

oh, goodness - Snow ALSO has a big, gorgeous muff & beard!! I just LOVE them in my Ameraucanas and EEs, but I don't have any that are THAT big! I'm GREEN!

I love them so much, I've at times thought about shifting my focus from the Blue Orpingtons to the true Ameraucanas. So few are really breeding great quality ones today.
