easter egger chick color

How can you tell what color a easter egger will be when it grows up? The chicks all look so much alike, does anyone have any progression pictures of their Easter eggers?

If you look REALLY hard you can find some posts where people have put pics of the babies and then pics of the adults. I think most of these are on the "show" forum (forgot the name--where they have contest) look for an Easter Egger contest. My general impression is that white is easy--chick is yellow, if it has a gold or red tint, that color will be dominant. I picked a chick with a lot of white in its stripes in the hopes that it would be like the "white laced" ones I've seen. I'm going to look for a thread right now...

I have five (maybe six - can't tell with one of them) EE pullets and they are turning 4 weeks old tomorrow. I have been blogging about them and have pics from every 1-3 days since I received them on there. Click the link in my signature to see them. They are nowhere near fully-grown, but they've got a lot of feathers now. Also, once you're on my blog, you can also click on the link in my blogroll for "Dig This Chick." Then do a search for chicken posts. She only has three chickens, but one is an EE that looks a lot like three of mine do and she has pics of her from a baby to an adult. I know it's not quite what you're looking for, but I hope this helps! I am really looking forward to seeing how mine turn out. It's been so fun to watch them develop.

Chick down colour doesn't vary by breed--it varies by the colour and pattern genes the bird carries, so you don't need to look for an easter egger thread to identify chick down patterns indications of adult plumage. Just realize that the adult plumage will not be refined into idealized standard patterns to the extent that a bird bred for a particular variety will.
