Here's our babies! Worried about the last one. Doesn't really want to open her eyes. My daughter is in love. We got a good variety I think! Any thoughts as to colors let me know or tips for the one that wont open eyes. Had sugar water but switched it out after they settled in. Nutridrench and save a chick in water. ACV in food. No pasty butts.

Very cute! Definitely a good variety. They've really got some beards going on. Good luck on the last chick.

We had one of our chicks come in on the weaker side. She didn't have a issue with opening her eyes but she didn't want to move around much and when she did she wouldn't walk really well. Kinda stumbled and fell a lot. Didn't think she'd make it but after a mix of save a chick electrolytes and probiotics mixed into their water for a week, she completely bounced back. Now she's a big healthy happy chicken :) (middle of the pecking order they've started to form at 6 weeks)
I did give them all some scrambled eggs chopped up fine in a dish for added protein.

Woke up this morning and everyone is great. Little girl I was worried about is running around. If any of you haven't heard about it I'm now a die hard believer in the heating pad brooder. They sleep so peacefully and quietly all night. I got up and checked a couple times last night and they were always sleeping. I didnt think chicks could sleep for more than an hour or two at a time. Plus I dont have to worry about anyone bumping it or the electric bill. Its great!

Glad the little one is doing ok making me go crazy knowing your chicks came from the same flock as my eggs!! Gives me an idea as to what mine will look like!! Now I can't wait till hatch day!!!

We started out with 4, lost two a couple days ago. Our coop was flipped by the wind and the dogs got 7 of our chicks before we seen what was happening.
The only one who had a name yet was "Hawk", and she is among the deceased. She was my favorite of the four. :(

Our survivors.. Unnamed

Oh no! I am so sorry. That must be devastating.

Here's my flock now 7 weeks old.
It's really frustrating picking out Roosters! 1 weeks ago I was sure I had 3 Roosters. An hour ago I thought I had 2.... Now it looks like I have 3 again. Which means I need to rehome 2.

2, 4, and 5 are definitely males. 3 might be male. The rest look like pullets for now, but that could change in another week or two.

Bummer if you do. It's tough with some breeds more than others. We have three Easter Eggers and no signs of boys in any of them. If you can wait to re home it's alwise wisest to because sometimes a girly can look like a boy if she's maturing a little faster than the others. Good luck either way :)
