Easter Egger club!

2, 4, and 5 are definitely males. 3 might be male. The rest look like pullets for now, but that could change in another week or two.

You pegged the same ones I was pretty sure were males. 3 I am pretty sure isn't a male. It carries it's tail same as the rest I know are females plus I have noticed they tend to separate into 3 different groups in the brooder now. With the definite roosters in the middle of the different groups. Exception is number 6 who for whatever reason loves to sit on top of the water jug.

This is Licorice. She was bought as a pullet, but the red feathering has me questioning that. Her comb isnt very big, but its a bit pink. She is 6 weeks old. What do you think?

The two Easter Eggers from my March hatch. I believe the one on the left is male (bulkier, 3 distinct rows of peas) and the one on the right is female (thin single row of peas with two tiny ridges on either side). She is a beautiful blue wheaten color.

Hii! I love my girls as much as the next guy, so here:

Smokey looked just like that at that age (except her muffs were more pronounced). And she turned out to be one of my best layers. One poster said that red wings are a male-only trait, but I've got four chickens that all grew up with red wings, and unless roosters have learned how to lay eggs I think that 'rule' may be in doubt.

Easter Eggers are not bred true, so IMO using characteristics to determine sex in an EE would only be valid if said characteristics applied to ALL chickens, regardless of breed.

I posted her in the state thread as well and someone said that it looks like s/he is getting saddle feathers. Im all kinds of worried now as we cant have a rooster. I am not giving up on licorice yet though.
