Easter Egger club!

I would assume it would depend on what they were crossed with to make the Easter Egger. Since they are mixes you could try and find ones that are ameraucana crossed with a large fowl breed that handled the cold well to make a good cold weather Easter Egger.

Does anyone know how old easter eggers are when they start laying eggs? I'm getting so excited for these colorful eggs but no sign of laying yet from my two girls

I'm still waiting for my new Jersey Giants to start laying so I can breed them to my Ameraucana Roos to make my giant Easter Eggers. I am going to raise some this fall ,so will be laying in the spring, to see how they turn out before I sell any next year. Between my peafowl (will have three hens producing) my pure flocks of Jersey Giants & Ameraucans, the new Giant Easter Eggers, my coturnix quail and my royal palm turkeys I might be a little busy. Oh yeh, the new yearling mule to be worked with, 2 kids, DH and a full time job, along with the other 10 mules and horses. I'm beginning to think I'm a glutton for punishment. :-(

Giant EE...cool.great idea

Oh I think these little EE's vary with their laying. Out of my 5: 1 started at 21-22 weeks; 3 others started in the middle of winter at about 32 weeks...(but winter/ less light might have put a hold on their ovaries anyways) and I had one EE in which I was questioning if she was a hen or not! She finally laid at about 40+ weeks. But again low light and winter may have curved or delayed POL for us.
