What a handsome boy! Do you have any of his babies? It is so hard to lose chickens that way. We recently lost my favorite hen, a mutt girl named Kiki. I miss her so much, it's silly.

Thanks hoss. He was a good roo. The only reason the dog got him was because he was trying to keep it from the hens.
Needless to say, the dog was toting rock salt in his behind for a while.

Oh, the rock salt method... I understand. I might not have been so......... lets just leave it at that!

My EE pullets are getting into the whole egg laying routine. The colors of their eggs are always a bit different every time, but I am sure that they will settle... Lovin' the blue green from my Rumples. Todays egg was 55gm. Much better then the 50gm egg from 2 days ago.

I got EE babies today! Of course they were labeled Ameracauna's HAHA, but we all know what they really are. Cut adorable fluff balls. I love how when they are little it's so hard to tell what color they will be as adults. Now my Peaches and Pickles and Cricket will have bearded buddies. They are supposed to be pullets, we shall see. (I know I have already posted these, but this is now my whole EE flock, even though pickles and cricket are half breeds.

And the new babies! (there are two duckling s in there also lol)

Sorry about the roo abmaddox - we lost 2 chickens to dog attacks last year - was devistating & we were quite upset & mad for quite a while
