Easter Egger club!

Mareaks disease, maybe. Did you vaccinate ? Has any of your chickens had same symptoms in past? It can spread up to 50 miles airborne. Just a thought, look it up on pedi poultry . It's a horrible disease! Sorry to hear.
Where did you purchase them? They are suppose to get vaccine 24-48 hours. Were they around any other chickens that could contract virus? We had one get it. Was a horrible experience ! She did live for a few weeks. We had to hand feed her .... Was so sad!

Has anyone else have picky eaters?? this years bunch won't touch the normal treats!! Scratch and feed are all they will eat so far. no fruit, veg or meal worms will the eat. My Cochin,Brahma,SS and GLW will eat anything but the EEs turn up their noses and scratch dirt on em.Grrrrr!!
Yes, I now have a list going :) I thought chickens would eat anything ? Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestion but I don't think it is that no lessions and the eyes look fine we have not vaccinated yet

Mine never had anything wrong with her eyes. It took is a bit to figure out she just had paralysis. So sad! I'm sorry, breaks my heart you had to go through that. Let me know what you figure out. I'm curious.

Mine are picky. I've found a boiled egg does the trick this year.
Surprised me when they won't eat mealworms ! It's funny you say hard boiled eggs. I went and got a dozen and they snubbed those to. I have been doing mostly leafy greens. Seems to be my flocks favorite. They definitely love apples and watermelon but no other fruit. Strange spoiled girls. If you find something that works let me know.

You aren't the only one! Mine won't eat scraps or anything. It usually takes awhile and once they see the older girls do it, they do it then.

My RIR eat as soon as I bring food/ scraps out. The EE in my flock are the ones who stand back for a bit. Or drop the food the reds would eat. If you have any food tips on my EE in the flock, let me know. I'm trying everything.

My adults,Cochin n Brahmaseat anything not nailed down. But my young EEs just won't touch mealworms, fruit, veg, grass or eggs!! bad lil velociraptors.

I would love some information about my Easter Eggers, and Easter Eggers in general. I'm not sure I fully understand the concept of an Easter Egger. They are blend chickens, correct? I have 2 EE chicks I just got, I was told one was a kalamata EE, and would lay dark green, almost brown eggs. My 2 EEs are both gray, but they are so different! One is darker, one is lighter, one has feather legs, the other doesn't, one looks like it has a peacomb, the other is fairly flat, one has crazy long legs! Any idea what they could be blended with?
