Easter Egger club!

That is what i was thinking ...keeping a pullet to breed back to the roo...but i should  cross siblings... ?!   Thanks....  :)

A lot of people say crossing siblings is bad, but most of the time the siblings are only half siblings. Breeders usually keep on or two roos and maybe 5 to 10 hens so the chances of them being full siblings is low.

If I was to standardize easter eggers would they still be easter eggers.

And also what would I get if I mixed these two.

I don't think that an EE would ever be standardized.
As far as what you'd get would probably be a broad spectrum if colors.

It is impossible to predict what the offspring of Easter Eggers will look like. I crossed two of mine, and all of the chicks are different. The parents are a blue ameraucana/EE and a 1/2 Crested cream legbar x wheaten Ameraucana. The eight chicks are:
1 brown and white barred cockerel
1 white and silver barred non-crested
1 gray non-crested
1 gray with brown neck
1 wheaten colored cockerel
1 solid gray with crest
1 solid brown crested pullet
1 silver and brown cockerel

I agree. These pullets are all from the same parent's:

Lots of color variation.

I will try to predict the chicks and explain the reason . Your male is silver and Columbian . Silver and red/gold are sex linked . I tried to enlarge the photo to see if he is golden . I could not enlarge it . Males can carry silver and gold . If he has any light gold in his neck or saddle he is golden and will produce both silver and gold . I think he is pure for silver . So I will go with that . Females carry 1 copy of silver or gold . So in this cross all females will inherit silver and all males will inherit silver from dad and gold from mom = what is called golden . Female seems to be dark wheaten and partridge or black breasted red . With Columbian and wheaten involved pattern of the black areas will vary .
To breed to standard color patterns they would still be EE . You could do white , BB red , wheaten , partridge , Columbian but getting them recognized as a breed would be difficult . For now gain some experience breeding standard colors .

Thank you the roo is not pure silver he has some gold in him but I do have a pure silver roo.
By standardizing I mean body type, comb, muffs, etc.
And thanks for the post in the colors.
