Easter Egger club!

Paul Raye, I went back and looked at pictures of my EE's when they were newborn and you can see their little furry cheeks. Here is a picture of one of them. He is a very colorful guy now and I just love him.

He looks great! I tried to pick out ones that had whiskers today, at least one of the two does for sure. I was also looking for the friendliest. Its just day one but I'm loving mine too.

I have 4 ee's and my roo justtry to get on one of the hens thismorning
i think they r 5 months is that about the riight age for my roo to be doing that n does that mean my hen could be ready to lay eggs soon

the center and left hen are EE's. unfortunately on Thursday a raccoon got in and killed the one on the left. she was a good layer, and very friendly. you could always pick her up and pet her.

So sorry for the loss of your EE, she was very pretty. Raccoons stink.

My poor Roo is having such a hard month that I'd thought I'd post a couple pics here of him at his finest and garner some love for him. Fishing for compliments for my Reeses.

The little jerk is now my buddy and all the crap he's been through this month with injuries, I actually miss him trying to attack me.

My two EE hens, Rolo (Blk) and Phyllis Diller.

So sorry. She looks like my Rolo a bit. I love these guys. My hubby and I were talking about when we move, retire, settle in a couple years, we are going to get more hens...but we decided that we want more EE's they have such great personalities.

Huggs to you.

CandJFarm, Just from my own experience with my flock, I don't think the rooster makes them lay any sooner. I had a roo that was 5 months old and going after the girls and mine didn't lay until they were 7 months old. That's just with mine though. Sounds like a good Google question.

yeah I know it has nothing to do with how or when they lay just thought maybe that if the rooster was mounting that they could be ready...just like always you have to wait and see
