I just had the most amazing bonding session with my 13 EEs and 2 Ws that are all 4 weeks old from Cackle. I haven't handled them or given them any treats thus far. I moved them from their brooder tub to a big area in my master bath that's framed in for a garden tub, but there's no tub in it yet, so it makes a perfect pen.

I got a stool and sat next to the pen, and one of my pullets flew up and perched on the 1x4 rim right next to me. I put my flat hand under her chest and she hopped on. I then rested my elbows on the rim and put my arms and hands out like tree branches and they all started roosting on me. Next thing I know they're on my shoulders and fighting for the best roosting spot on top of my head. Fortunately I was wearing a cap.

All my other chickens have made friends with me at age 6 weeks by perching on the rim of their brooder and sidling up to me when I sit next to it, and they're all affectionate, especially the GCs; but i've never experienced such trust and affection at only 4 weeks as I did from this group of babies.

I had noticed they seemed even more friendly than my Cackle GCs, BAs, and BPRs, but these EEs and the Ws are so amazing!!! They think it's no big deal for me to handle them, so this is going to be great!
