Easter Egger club!

Not sure if I already posted pics of my two girls or not! They're a couple of dorks. They run around and waddle their butts when they run and act all silly. Don't like being held or touched, but they seem to be getting a little better about that. Henrietta used to have an absolute hissy fit if I tried to pick her up. Heaven forbid I ever got ahold of her! The wing-flapping and squawking, and practically screaming! Now she lets me pet her when they're up on the roost at bedtime and I go in to say good night. Hopefully it will get even better and I can hold her once in awhile. Gertie is the same, altho she doesn't squawk as much. They're going on 16weeks I believe this week.

Here's Henrietta this morning

Gertrude with head always in motion...

Hmmm...guess I didn't get any other good pics of Gertie this morning. She's a hard one to catch even in photos! LOL I can't wait til they start laying!!!

They are so PRETTY. I'm sure with time they'll calm down. Henrietta's speckles are great, and Gertrude's lacing on her front is lovely.

So, my first batch of chickies are about 18 weeks old now. This one, Lady Gray, has been changing over the last two weeks. The white on her head wasn't there before, the feathers on her back (toward the tail area) are getting puffy, and her face is getting so very red. Do you think she'll lay soon?? I am beyond myself with excitement at the thought of it. The face picture was her just as she was starting to change, the second picture was taken today.

Wow! She's beautiful!! Such interesting colors!

Is it possible to have an Easter egger without a beard/muffs? I have two pullets that were labeled as heavies at the store. I was convinced that they were easter eggers because I saw a picture of an EE that looked just like them but now I'm doubting myself. I thought they would develop muffs as they matured but now I realize muffs are usually present even in day olds. They also have yellow legs. I can't figure out what the heck they are, please help! (Also, someone on this forum told me they were red laced cornish but I know for a fact they're not)

Totally new to Chickens. I have an EE that is fairly clean faced, but from my understanding they should also have the grey/greenish legs, not yellow as these do.

Also, like I said, I'm new to the chicken thing, so I can offer no options on what they actually are, but am curious as to why you are certian that they are not White laced Red Cornish? If they were in the bin labeled "heavies" combined with their coloring, that seems to be fitting...

Because I had one of the cornish, it was definitely different. And the cornish came from the bantam bin; the chickens in question are standards

They look a lot like a young Cornish to me. Cornish also come in standard size. In fact, while I'm sure bantam varieties do exist, I've only seen standard /heavy Cornish.
