Easter Egger club!

400

Fester in early molt and he is almost bare butted. Looks so strange without his plumage to balance him out visually.

Aww! He matches my poor, buttless Nero! Heeheehee.

Congratulations on the blue egg! It is exciting and so much fun to see the new ones laying! I got another blue egg today too! My 2nd one! My girl is definitely a girl because I'm just sure the blue egg came from her since my other two EE's are not quite old enough to start laying. This picture is of my new hen that I was just wondering yesterday if she might be a rooster, but I guess she proved today that she is not!

Thanks for the congrats y'all, she didn't lay one yesterday, but then my PR took a day off too. As for your suspected bird, 'she' doesn't look like a 'roo; I don't see any hackles on her neck (thanks for the large picture BTW, makes it easy to see) and there is no discernible curl in the tail feathers. Nor are there any wattles and the comb doesn't look very red either. How old is she?

I have an EE chick in the brooder bin that is feathering out a lot like her. I hope mine comes out as nice looking, and such a nice beard.

I would, but I'm still not sure which hen actually layed it, I only have three EEs of laying or near laying age; Braveheart, Muffins and Robin, so I know it had to be one of them, The fact that one is named Robin is why I used the jingle.

I'll try and get some new pics of them today, although they don't look all that different from the last set I posted.

She's a gorgeous bird, I love that type of feather coloring! Do EEs come with yellow eggs though? I thought they were all supposed to have slate or green legs, isn't it supposed to be connected somehow with the blue-egg gene?

No leg color is not connected to egg color . The cream Legbar breed has yellow legs and lay blue eggs .

The person who posted this bird already explained that this was a Gold Laced Wyandotte.
Lol thanks June yes this is Appa one of my gold laced Wyandotte she loves her Easter Egger sisters I have a mixed flock with 6 Easter eggers the other 4 are slowly getting big and love their other breed siblings. It doesn't matter if they look any different it's still fun and I loved the jingle

I think Chaz is learning how to sing! There sure seemed to be two different crowings coming from the lower 40 this morning when I went to feed the dogs and check on the chicks, and one did sound more bass and less refined than the other...

They grow up so fast, don't they?
