Awe don't give up because of a few losses. Maybe you can try again down the road.
have a thought for a guy whos blog i was reading, he was writing about creating his own breed. after a few generations and over 2 years in, a fox killed his whole flock, can understand after the time and feelings invested in that enterprise he would be in 2 minds about restarting again.but i have NEVER lost that many chicks in that short period of time

i live in a hot humid climate also i know but my dad plans to get more when they get better also trading my cornish pullet for a Polish rooster and i'm afraid that she will get stressed and the pox come back and effect his flockWhen there's a contagious illness losses are expected. In my hot humid SoCalif climate I don't have luck with EE or Amer because they are too heavily under-downed. But if you have a milder climate EEs will do fine. Just don't get more birds until your current contagion has passed and been sterilized.

Biosecurity warning. Don't be trading chickens until the contagion has passed and everything sterilized.
no fowl pox can stay in them for life and if they get stressed uot they will start to show up again once the bird travels from here to there she will be stressed and the fowl pox will appear again and its highly contigous
