Very nice our silkies are getting on pretty well we have a very diverse flock. We actually have a 3rd silkie that's mineAmeraucanas and EEs are great birds to have around little Silkies because of the usually gentle non-combative nature of Amer's and EEs. The gentlest bird around our Silkies was our Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. Very smart to get 2 Silkies. Our 2 Silkies are not necessarily best buddies but they do tend to toodle around together:![]()

Our sweet Blue Wheaten Ameraucana inside the doghouse with the Silkies. It surprised us how much the chickens hang out inside the houses.

lol I know what you mean I'm lucky we don't live with in city limits and our birds seem to have a systemThat IS a diverse flock! My DH loves his Silkies so I've had to plan what docile types of other chickens to mix with them. I tried larger dual purpose birds but any breed over 5-lbs were too assertive toward our Silkies. Our backyard is small so not much room for littles to hide from aggressive large fowl. We are zoned for no more than 5 hens/no roos so it limits our breed choices. Otherwise I'd love a half-dozen Silkies, a few Ameraucanas, and several Bredas plus another section of exotic ornamentals, etc etc etc LOL!
