[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Happy to join! We love our Easter Eggers that we raised as day olds! They are now 14 weeks old - I know that their mother was a buff wheaten ameraucana but I'm not sure what they were crossed with![/FONT]



Nellie Olsen - the funniest one of the flock! She comes up and chatters at us all day! I can't wait until she is fully grown




Anne Shirley - She's also chattery, and hasn't warmed up to us as much as the others!




Little one - Almost didn't make it. Half the size as a chick, pasty butt - but catching up quickly!

I have 3 EEs, and love them (especially their beards and puffy cheeks)! It's so fun to discover a blue or green egg in a nest box!

Left is Cinnamon and right is Chipmunk. I also have one (not pictured) named Nutmeg.

And I love the muffs on them all, esp. Little One's muff. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get pretty colorful eggs.

The Easter Eggers that we kept have single combs so far - some of the ones that our friends got have pea/rose combs. Do you know if that means that we won't get blue eggs?

We are thinking of getting some EE in the spring but not sure of there temperament or there egg laying abilities . Also they would be free ranging and I'm not sure I'd they are suited for open living . HELP !!!!

I am no expert, first time owner, but I have 4 EE and they are the most cuddly friendly things. I raised mine inside from day old chicks that came from Privett Hatchery via a feed store. Mine free range during the day when I let them out. Today they followed me into the woods like puppies. I had no idea they where there until I turned around and there where my 4 EE girls thinking they are just so cute and smart following me so way off bounds. LOL. They followed me right back also. Mine are only 8 months old but I have gotten eggs from them for a some time now. Each egg is a different color. One is kinda blue, one is kinda green and one is almost tan, and the one odd ball girl I have that does not have muffs and is kind of wild lays a pinkish egg. I get an average of 3 eggs a day. Mine live in a heated enclosed chicken coop so as to total free range I can't claim personal knowledge but I have seen them kept outside in WA Seattle area (sunset zone 5) with minimal shelter. You should check in the thread of the state you are in.

I really love mine and will be getting more.
