Just got 4 EE chicks and I already have two EE hens that I bought as adults. Both the hens and the chicks are gorgeous!

I picked 2 that are different shades of brown and 2 that are different shades of the chipmunk look. I can't wait to see how they change!!

Those Chicks and Beautiful! And, that is a nice 2 doz. Rainbow Eggs! That is what I am working towards. I got 4 EE hens and a Roo that may be an Ameraucana. 2 of the hens just started laying. Unfortunately still no blue or green eggs! They are laying light creamy brown eggs which is ok. I just need the Blue/Green to complete the rainbow! Hope the other 2 will do the trick. I am going to hatch some soon. I want to see what happens with a Cuckoo Maran Hen and the Ameraucana Roo.

I've got 11 other chicks...but only one EE...I chose all different kinds. Do I need to get atleast two of each kind or will they all mingle together? I'm also wondering if "she" will be a roo. A lot of people on here say that the light ones end up being roos (another excuse to go get a few more )

They'll get along just fine. Be sure to give the chicks plenty of room because Easter Eggers grow really fast. I hatched out a bunch of chicks and some Easter Eggers along with them and my Easter Eggers are growing way faster than they are. And the reason I said to give them a lot of room is because Easter Eggers grow big feet and they are all the time stepping on my other chicks.

Oh good! They'll get along fine, my Cuckoo Marans and EE that are close in age would hang out together as they grew. Chick coloration fir EE's isn't sex based, it's only as adult plumage comes in that you can start narrowing it down. While a lot of mostly white EE's are cockerels, there's just as many pullets that end up mostly white. It's just far more common for them to have orange/brown feathering with black ticking in places.

My EE mixes are growing up fast! They graduated to the chicken coop, but they still get excited and come running whenever a person appears.


This poor little EE/Production Red mix had just taken its first steps outside when the big scary Pipsqueak (left) appeared and scared her back into the coop.

Pipsqueak is a full-grown Old English Game Bantam and is already dwarfed by some of the chicks born last month.


They wouldn't come out of the crate until they realized "Mama" was here.
