Easter Egger club!

He is 4 months and has a purple in his black feathers. I know he's a mutt. You have any ideas of what he may be mixed with?

He is carrying silver and possibly gold hidden by silver . Red in the shoulders which is a problem in purebred silvers and expected in mixed color EE . Purple is considered a fault in many breeds as black areas should have a green sheen . He may just be EE . It is hard to say as nothing I see tells of another breed . He is a very nice bird .

this is a updated picture of my cockerel Sassy. Is it normal for a cockerels tail feathers to grow down? I'm new to roosters and just have the big tail image in my head.
He is definitely a lovely color. I have a EE roo who is probably half Ameracauna and half Arucana (sp). He has tail feathers, just sad ones

Yes, you are correct. In the middle of his back he has white and gold mix. The gold sits under the white. Very interesting about the purple/ green feathers. I love learning about all of the genetics.

OK jerryse what do you think Fester is breed wise???

Breed wise EE . Color wise he is carrying silver and probably red/gold . I do not see Columbian restriction in him . Columbian is common in hatchery EE . There are so many color genes in the hatchery EE and some are hard to put a name on .

After reading your post, I checked him out a bit further . He has 3 green tail feathers. Plus a green and purple tint to the black feathers. It's Hard to see in the picture. I love learning about the genetics and gathering everyone's knowledge ! Here are a couple photos. One concerns me, may be nothing but anyone input would be appreciated! It's seems like the beginning of feathers but am new to this.

I have a beautiful easter egger hen setting on 6 EE eggs and 1 brown mystery egg. Can't wait for them to hatch! I believe my hen is a blue wheaten ameraucana cross as she resembles the colour very much.
